Born in Chiavari, Francesca Benitez graduated with top honors from the Conservatorio Paganini in Genoa.
She is the winner of several prestigious international opera competitions, including the Ottavio Ziino Competition and the 69th As.Li.Co. Competition for Young Opera Singers, where she was awarded the role of the Countess of Folleville in Il viaggio a Reims.
Francesca began her career at Teatro San Carlo in Naples, debuting as the Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte. She has since performed a variety of roles at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, including Musetta in La Bohème and Héro in Béatrice et Bénédict. She sang in L’elisir d’amore at the Macerata Opera Festival in a production by Damiano Michieletto, broadcast on Rai5.
Other notable appearances include Despina in Così fan tutte directed by Pier Luigi Pizzi, Rosita in Un mari à la porte by Offenbach at Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, and Lakmé in a new production by Davide Livermore at the Royal Opera House in Muscat, Oman.
She has also debuted the roles of Norina in Don Pasquale and Gilda in Rigoletto, further establishing her versatility in the bel canto and Romantic repertoire.
